What is M.I.C.?
M.I.C. (Music Inspires Change) is a 12-week therapeutic program that uses music as a tool for healing, reflection, and personal growth.
Through guided listening, lyric analysis, and group discussion, participants explore themes they are already living—empathy, forgiveness, perseverance, purpose, belief in self, and gratitude.
As the program progresses, they move from listening to creating, writing their own lyrics and designing personal album cover art as a way to claim their story and their voice.
This is not about making musicians.
It’s about helping young people understand themselves.
How the Program Works
Weeks 1–8
The Power of Theme Songs
Each session centers around a life theme explored through music, conversation, and reflection. Participants learn to name emotions, recognize patterns, and build healthier coping skills.
Weeks 9–12:
Write Your Own Soundtrack
Participants shift from reflection to creation—writing original lyrics inspired by their experiences and designing album art that represents growth, identity, and ownership. The program concludes with a shared showcase and a sense of closure and forward momentum.
Why Music Works
Music activates emotion, memory, and motivation at the same time.
It helps regulate the nervous system.
It creates safety where words alone can’t.
It allows people to process pain without being overwhelmed by it.
M.I.C. uses rhythm, storytelling, and creative expression to help participants hear themselves again—and realize they have agency in what comes next.

The MIC Hoodie
Only 100 Available
To support the continuation and expansion of the M.I.C. program for disadvantaged youth, we’ve created a limited-edition MIC hoodie.
Only 100 hoodies will be produced.
All proceeds go directly toward funding the program—helping cover materials, facilitation, creative supplies, and access for participants who may not otherwise have the opportunity.
When you purchase a hoodie, you’re not buying merchandise.
You’re investing in healing, expression, and possibility.

Be Part of the Change
Many disadvantaged young people are carrying more than they know how to explain and more than they should have to carry alone.
M.I.C. gives them language.
It gives them tools.
It gives them a way forward.
Sometimes change starts with a conversation.
Sometimes it starts with a song.
